Bacup Business Association will be holding an advice and guidance meeting tomorrow afternoon for local businesses and trades people affected by the coronavirus crisis.

CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM LEAVING HOME UNLESS NECESSARY

Residents of the Bacup and Rossendale area have been asked to remain home and stay inside, unless leaving the house for essentials. This comes after the Prime Minister put the UK on enforced lock down.

MANY PEOPLE ARE FACING THE PROSPECT OF BEING WITHOUT A FULL TIME INCOME AFTER LOSING THEIR JOBS OR BEING ON REDUCED INCOME; DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK, BUT THERE IS HOPE, THESE COMPANIES ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR STAFF

The coronavirus has left many people without an income or on a massively reduced income; after losing work due to the recent lockdown, brought on by the Covid-19 virus.

While the government have promised to pay some people 80% of their income up to £2,500, this is still leaving a lot of families and locals in extreme financial difficult as they have regular, monthly, financial commitments.

Many local people have been left anxious and worried, many have lost their jobs altogether; which causes an additional stress and anxiety. The Department of Work & Pensions, yesterday announced, that in the past 9 days nearly half a million people have signed up to claim for Universal Credit. This shocking number is only expected to grow, putting a huge strain and burden on the current welfare system.
